Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF)
is looking for an engaged, organized, and bright human rights intern!
Would you like to work with women, peace and security
issues? Do you want to apply your textbook Human Rights law skills to a real
world setting? Do you want to see the UN Human Rights system in person and how
the Civil Society interacts with it? Do you want to experience the exciting –
and sometimes chaotic – life of working in a grassroots organization with small
budgets and big ambitions?
If you have answered YES to the questions above, then we
want you to be our Human Rights intern for Winter-Spring 2014!
As a member of the dedicated WILPF team, your tasks will be
exciting, diverse, and challenging. You will take part in the UN human rights
bodies’ sessions, NGO coordination meetings and will report on those using your
academic knowledge. You will also prepare articles for our blog, training
materials, working documents and other materials on Human Rights for
publications, and for internal use.
We encourage you to apply if you are a committed Human
Rights activist interested on Women’s rights and Peace issues. The internship
is perfect for an energetic, motivated person who wants to discover the world
of feminist organizations and activism.
The practical stuff
The full-time internship will begin in January and will go
on until June. The internship is Geneva-based. 20% of your time will be
