Position Title: IT Intern

Reports To: Director of Information Technology
Salary: $10.00 an hour
A nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, the International
Republican Institute (IRI) advances freedom and democracy worldwide by
developing political parties, civic institutions, open elections, good
governance and the rule of law. IRI has conducted programs in more than 100
counties and is currently active in 65 countries.
The Information Technology Department of IRI seeks an intern
to assist with current projects, helpdesk functions and the overall mission of
the IT department of providing superior IT support to IRI staff, both in the DC
office and to several offices abroad.
Responsibilities:
The IT Intern will be responsible to the Support Services
Manager for following:
· Troubleshooting
basic computer issues.
· Troubleshooting
basic network, wired and wireless, connectivity issues.
· Troubleshooting
basic cellular connectivity issues.
· Assist with the
imaging and deployment of computers to end-users.
· Assist with
maintaining inventory control for equipment and software.
· Writing and/or
editing documentation
· Conduct research
on any number of topics as it relates to IRI’s mission and technology.
· Assist with the
IRI’s audio/visual needs, including, but not limited to doing postproduction
editing to videos.
Required Skills:
· Must be able to
lift up to 50 pounds.
· Must have good
communications skills, both verbal and written, and have excellent customer
relation skills.
· Must be organized
and capable of multitasking, performing roles within a team, as well as the
initiative to complete tasks independently.
· Must have a
desire for progressing career in Information Technology.
Desired Skills:
· Experience with
Final Cut Studio or similar video editing tools
· Experience with
development in Adobe Flash
· Experience with
Microsoft Office 2010 and/or 2013
· Experience with
Microsoft SharePoint 2007 and/or 2013
