Aquaponics Specialist, Jordan

Volunteer Assignment 595320E
ACDI/VOCA is currently seeking an Aquaponics Specialist for an upcoming volunteer assignment in Jordan. The Royal Botanic Garden requests volunteer assistance to set up an aquaponics unit for the local community. The volunteer will determine the least expensive design that can be built with locally sourced materials, determine which fish should be used, and provide instructions for setting up and operating the unit. The assignment will last for approximately two weeks in country, in addition to preparation and research prior to departure. Travel and living expenses are covered.


Qualifications:

  • University degree in aquaculture, wildlife management, environmental science or another related field.
  • Ten years' experience in hydroponics, aquaponics, and green fodder production with a strong background in conducting trainings.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with MS Word and PowerPoint.
