The Program Intern provides translations, conducts research,
assists in website content development and completes all tasks as needed for
organizing, preparing and executing courses.
This is a paid internship opportunity located in Washington,
D.C.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Courses
- Prepares
course applicants excel files
- Prepares
course data for instructors
- Answers
course related emails
- Prepares
new courses
- Edits
new courses
- Conduct
additional task as assigned by the course administrator
- Prepares
emails and communications
Donor Reports
- Facilitate
the preparation and production of quarterly reports
- Research
and program support
- Assist
with relevant program-related research as requested, including attending
and reporting on conferences and other outside events.
- Conduct
research on best practices, and latest innovations in various program
areas and methods.
- Conduct
research for proposals and new program areas.
- Provide
administrative support to the Special Initiatives Program team
Website
- Translates
needed material as requested by the Program Officer and Website Editor
- Conducts
research
- Provides
content as needed
- Reviews
website to ensure updated material
- Review
user comments and assists in moderation
- Works
with Iran program team to design new concepts and programs for the
projects
- Edits
website material

Qualifications
Education
A college degree, preferably in a relevant field such as journalism, economics, political science, international affairs, or area studies.

Work or study experience in Iran.

Other
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple tasks are required. Computer skills, including word processing, databases, Internet, and spreadsheets, are required. Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of Persian is required.
