CSPD in Washington, DC.
Position Description:
FHI 360’s Civil Society and Peacebuilding
Department (CSPD) strengthens the leadership, capacity, and credibility of
national and community-based organizations and helps increase the transparency
of government agencies at all levels. Our civil society programs enable
citizens to solve their own problmes and influence policy. Our
peacebuilding experts use a variety of locally-owned, effective, and
sustainable tools to bridge differences and bring peace to divided communities.
CSPD seeks a temporary (3-6 months) Development
Intern to perform the following gfunctions in support of CSPD departmental
business development processes and proposal development.
Responsibilitites:
- Analyzes,
generates, and maintains records, reports, and other reference material for
departamental use.
- Answers
and makes phone calls, responds to program related questions and sends
written material as appropriate.
- Composes,
types, and prints reports, general letters, spreadsheets, email, and
memoranda from rough drafts or general instructions, involving the
assembly of data from computer and paper file or record sources.
- Conducts
special studies in conjunction with a project, analyzes data and makes
recommendations based upon studies.
- Supports
proposal development through research, writing, travel, editing,
formatting, and other tasks as appropriate.
- Performs
other administrative and programmatic duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- At
least two years of college experience
- Articulate,
professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with
clients and staff
- Must
be able to read, write and speak fluent English. Fluency in Portuguese,
French, Spanish, Arabic, or other additional language is preferred.
- Experience
with international programs, US government rules and regulations
preferred. Experience specifically in Jamaica or with youth and
civil society programs in the Caribbean preferred.
- Experience
using Microsoft Office Suite.
