Internship: ICT Programs

Location: Washington DC, USA

General Function
The Internews ICT Initiative is currently seeking a summer intern. The intern will assist with logistical research and administrative support for ICT Programs. She/he will have the opportunity to gain experience in program administration, grant management, and Internews’ work to foster independent media and access to information worldwide. This paid internship position will report to the Director for ICT Programs.
 
Duties and Responsibilities include
  • Assists project leads in basic program implementation duties (i.e. data analysis, and research)
  • Work with Senior Program Associate to process funding requests, reimbursements, and invoices
  • Assists with the documentation for  Personal Service Contracts (PSCs), Wire Transfer Requests (WTRs) and Services Contract for Vendors
  • Attend ICT Programs related events and other external meetings as necessary and provide readout to team members
  • Assist with administrative duties such as filing, faxing, copying, mailings and travel arrangements
 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or current college student
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge or interest in ICT development programs
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and grant-related compliance requirements preferred
  • Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality regarding all aspects of work at all times
