seeking qualified candidates for the position of Intern, NGO
Connections II in Washington, DC.
Program Description:
FHI 360’s Global Connections Department engages
with educational institutions and individuals in the United States and around
the world to strengthen and diversify academic exchanges and educational
linkages. The NGO Connections II program delivers online civil society capacity
building programs in project management and media to young professionals from
Southwest Asia working in technical fields such as education, environment,
health and social work.
Position Description:
- Under
the direction of the Senior Program Officer, the Intern will provide
website resource development and operational support to the NGO
Connections II program.
- Maintain
Website Resource Materials: Conduct website resource analysis and
development for program websites for project management and media
websites, including targeted research, upload of materials, maintenance of
matrix; and research and development of new materials.
- Develop
Program Resources: Manage and update project materials and information as
well as support development of new materials.
- Additional
Support Tasks: Support project tasks as requested; conduct program related
research as requested; and translate content from Farsi to English or from
English to Farsi both in written and oral format to support program
development.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors
obtained and/or student in one of the following or related fields: Adult
& Continuing Education, Anthropology, Communications , Development
Economics, Development Studies, Developmental Education, International Affairs,
International Development, International Relations, International Studies,
Media Studies, Social Science and Other Job-related Field required or
equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Cultural
knowledge of Farsi speaking countries.
- Demonstrated
interest in civil society and civil society capacity building.
- Interest
and/or experience in project management or documentary filmmaking
- Interest
and/or experience in maintaining websites.
Required Skills:
- Farsi
or Dari language skills
- Excellent
verbal communication skills
- Proficiency
in basic functions of Win95, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Organized;
sets priorities; meets deadlines; able to multi-task.
