Description
Workforce Management Systems, Department 9544,
provides agile, innovative, process-based IT solutions primarily for Human
Resources. The corporate applications and technology we deliver include the
Oracle PeopleSoft HRMS (Human Resource Management System), HR Reporting Data
Warehouse, Medical EMR, and TEDS Training Application along with other
applications. Our vision is to provide continuous support of Sandia's HR
systems offering accurate, timely and auditable data while partnering with our
customers for solutions that assist them in meeting their business objectives.
Job Summary
Performs work as an entry- to mid-level member of
the workforce within a science and engineering environment involving
graduate-level assignments, which may include research, application of project
design and diagnostics, testing and documentation, development and analysis of
technology options, and assembly and troubleshooting.
Primary Job Duties
Job assignments vary upon organization, discipline
preference, and specific job requirements as defined in the job specification.
Duties may include working collaboratively with
technical staff on developmental research, analysis of technology and
engineering options, project design, testing, formulating conclusions, data
collection, and analyzing experimental data.

Internship opportunity exist for a motivated,
ambitious, and customer-oriented student intending to pursue a career in
software engineering/development. The position encompasses maintenance and/or enhancement
activities for a variety of systems that provide enabling and efficiency
capabilities for the Sandia mission.
Applications and Business Intelligence solutions are written in a
variety of programming languages, combine a mixture of custom and commercial
applications, utilize Oracle or SQL Server corporate database management
systems, and follow a development framework for application development such as
Agile or Rational Unified Process (RUP).
We also incorporate project management and user interface design into
our projects. We value excellent
communication skills, agility in adapting to change, ability to work
effectively with high-performing teams, outstanding customer service, user
interface design experience and effective project management skills.

Required
The successful candidate must meet the following
Sandia Student Intern Requirements: Official acceptance into an accredited
university's graduate program, full-time enrollment during the spring term
immediately preceding the internship period (9 credit hours), a minimum
cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0, and the ability to work up to 40 hours per week
during the summer. U.S. citizenship.
(1) Education - pursuing a Master's in Management
Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent field
of study.
(2) Software Development - Experience or interest
in software application development using recognized software engineering
processes
- Microsoft suite of tools including SharePoint,
InfoPath, C#/.NET, SSRS, SSAS, Excel Services, etc.

- Coldfusion
- SQL

Security
Clearance
Position requires a Department of Energy
(DOE)-granted L-level security clearance.
Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a
pre-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law
enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education
verifications. Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a
DOE L-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
Applicants offered employment with Sandia are
subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for
access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position
require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use,
falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other
