Duration: 9 months, 3 days per week.
We are currently looking to recruit an Intern to support
research and project development for the Gender in Peacebuilding research
strand at International Alert (Alert). The strand works on and with different
aspects of integrating gender perspectives meaningfully into peacebuilding
activities. In practice we work closely with Alert’s thematic and regional
programmes as well as country teams to deliver research, trainings and
participate in global debates on policy and practice reforms.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, motivated
and able to demonstrate skills in both qualitative and quantitative research.
Core tasks will include:
· Assisting with administrative tasks linked to outreach,
advocacy and documentation,
· Contributing to emerging research on integrating gender
perspectives into peacebuilding programming, and
· Assisting with the development of new projects in the
field of gender in peacebuilding. With a degree in a relevant subject, you will
have knowledge and/or experience of working on peace, conflict issues and/or
international relations, especially from a gender angle. You’ll have a talent
for identifying and tracking down appropriate literature, data sources and
identifying its main themes. Knowledge of a foreign language and an ambition to
work in the peacebuilding sector is desirable.
