Intern required for fast expanding security sector reform consultancy to assist in the development of a new business venture.

Title: Intern, Natural Resources Team

Tsamota Ltd is a Manchester and Brussels based security sector reform consultancy. The company is young, highly dynamic and extremely global as reflected by the diversity of its staff and markets. In the public sector,
we deliver police and military training programmes and justice reform projects on behalf of donor agencies including the EU, UN and the UK and US governments across the Middle East and Africa.
In the private sector, Tsamota Natural Resources assists clients in managing risks created by engagement with police, military and private security forces. We offer services that no other consultancy provides.

The Intern’s main role will be to assist the Natural Resources business unit manager in developing the business. Specifically by;
i. Researching potential clients, markets and relevant legislation
ii. Writing promotional material, proposals and new tenders
iii. Assisting in the development of a business plan for an further new service line
iv. General administrative and assistant duties
The role is based out of the Brussels office and will require the applicant to be located in, or relocate to, the city for the duration of the contract. Occasional travel may be required. The role is full time though the company will consider requests for part- time employment.
The ideal applicant will have a keen business or legal mind with a ‘can do’ entrepreneurial attitude. The candidate must be imaginative, organised and versatile.
Employment after the conclusion of the contract is not guaranteed though previous interns have been taken on permanently. At the completion of the internship the intern will have gained experience in business development, planning, research and communications and will be better equipped to work in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment.

Remuneration: Small stipend.

Essential requirements
Do not apply unless you have:
a) The right to work within the European Union
b) English to a professional standard(as demonstrated by at least two years of full time study or employment in an English language environment)
c) One of the following:
-A degree in law
or
-A degree in business studies, economics or allied discipline
or
-Conflict/ terrorism studies as a free standing degree or as module within a wider degree programme
or
-Military, police, mining or oil & gas work experience
Desirable requirements
Proficiency in French, Spanish or Arabic is considered an advantage.
Work experience in Africa or the Middle East and/ or a demonstrable interest in emerging markets.
