The Transparency International Secretariat (TI-S) is seeking
a highly motivated intern to support the work of the Business Integrity
Programme.
Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society
organisation leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 100
chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, Germany, TI
raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners
in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective
measures to tackle it.
TI advocates for reform by focusing on systemic improvement
and by building coalitions with other anti-corruption stakeholders, including
governments, the private sector and civil society organisations.
The Business Integrity Programme supports the Transparency
International global movement in three main areas. Firstly, by working on
improving the behaviour of companies, e.g. by developing promoting standards to
advance anti-corruption and transparency practices. Secondly, by promoting and
engaging in collective action with groups of companies and/ or industry sectors
to promote transparency, integrity and accountability. Thirdly, by working to
promote an environment which incentivises clean business practices (e.g. good
regulatory environment, voluntary measures, external pressure of stakeholders
and/ or public) both nationally and internationally.

Key tasks:
- Organising
meetings, workshops, minute-taking, managing projects;
- Skilled
administrative and financial tasks such as event logistics, carrying out
reimbursements, creating Power Point presentations and updating internal
information systems;
- Coordinating
and supporting team members’ activities (2 persons in Berlin, 1 in
Canada);
- Helping
build knowledge management resource;
- Communication
with TI National Chapters and other external stakeholders;
- Contribution
to programme reports;
- Responding
to internal and external requests for information.
Knowledge, experience, interests and skills:
- Excellent
spoken and written English (working language at TI Secretariat);
- Excellent
project management, organisational and communication skills, particularly
with high level stakeholders and experts. Experience organising events is
an asset;
- Previous
experience working with corporate donors, and/or project management in a
corporate/private sector environment is an asset;
- Capacity
to work under pressure and “stay gracious under fire”;
- Some
prior office experience, good knowledge of MS Office applications (Word,
Outlook and especially Excel and Power Point). IT savvy;
- Experience
building/contributing to a knowledge management system would be an asset;
- Some
knowledge of and considerable interest in the work of TI and the field of
anti-corruption in the private sector would be an advantage.
