Campaign Researcher – Land of Promise (based in Amsterdam)


Land of Promise
Land of Promise is an advocacy campaign aimed at eliminating the worst kinds of labor and environmental practices from the pineapple industry in Mindanao, The Philippines. As a Campaign Researcher you will have a versatile position, working with a wide variety of research techniques related to the food industry. The topics concern matters related to food markets, supply chain dynamics, sustainable agricultural systems, labour and environmental rights. The outputs of your work will be used directly to inform the campaigning process. The position also allows you to get first-hand experience of campaigning and develop yourself in the direction of communication if desired. 
Your competences
You are studying at or have graduated from a higher education institution (HBO) or university, or have acquired an equivalent level of working and thinking through professional experience. Knowledge of the food and beverage industry, or a degree related to international development studies, sustainable supply chain management, agricultural economics and sustainable development represent are a big asset. You have excellent verbal and written skills in English. As a successful applicant, you are also results-oriented, analytical, quality focused and able to work within agreed deadlines. Furthermore, you are able to work independently, and often flexibly, but are also a team player. Obviously, you have affinity with Fairfood International’s goals.

The assignment
The assignment consists of processing the results of a questionnaire with 130 respondents for the purpose of writing a campaign report. Prior experience with surveys, qualitative research and SPSS is therefore preferred.

This is an unpaid position suitable as an internship to obtain work experience in a fast-growing and professional international sustainability organization. It offers you the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge about the food industry, campaigning, advocacy and sustainability analysis. We value our employees and fully recognize that flexibility in your working hours might be important for you. To create a beneficial relationship for both parties we expect you to work for a minimum of 16-24 hours a week over a three-month period. Work-home travels are re-imbursed.
