Gain valuable experience in events and fundraising
working closely with the HOPE team.
We need your help to contact our fundraisers,
welcome them to Team HOPE, encourage them along the way, congratulate and thank
them for their achievements.
Sporting and celebration events are fantastic ways
for people to complete a personal challenge, do something rewarding and raise
vital funds to help vulnerable and needy children through HOPEs support.
This is a rewarding and critical role ensuring
that our fundraisers know why their efforts help to make a difference.
Tasks can
include:
- Communicate with fundraisers and send the
relevant supporter information
- Reply to emails and answer phone calls
- Promote challenge/sports events to our
supporters
- Promote the event online using blogs and social
networking sites
- Promote the event locally through media work
e.g. radio and newspapers
- Update spreadsheets to support fundraising
activity
- Various research projects may be delegated
You will not necessarily be expected to do all of
the above; this role will be varied depending upon the skills and time
availability of the volunteer.
Desirable
Skills:
- Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel and the
internet
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Confident telephone manner
- Willingness to work as part of a team
- Ability to inspire supporters and communicate
the difference their support makes
- Ability to take the initiative and have a
flexible approach
- An interest in the voluntary sector and charity
work
Additional
information:
This is an unpaid internship based in the HOPE
office (Hertfordshire, Hemel Hempstead). Minimum commitment of 3 days per week
for 3 months. Travel expenses will be covered within reason.
