Palestine - Internship on ENPI and UNDP Projects

COOPI is currently implementing a project in East Jerusalem with the specific objective to improve the professional skills of the youth workforce in East Jerusalem, thereby enabling youngsters to take advantages and opportunities in the labour market.


Three main components characterise the action:
· Career awareness among primary and secondary school students, teachers, CBOs youth leaders, etc.
· Collaboration between Vocational Training Centres and Industry,
· Upgrading of vocational training courses.

COOPI is seeking an intern to support the implementation of projects funded by the European Union and UNDP in East Jerusalem.

DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS
Purpose and objectives
Under the guidance and supervision of the Project Manager, the stager will:
Ø support in all the projects’ operational and administrative management activities agreed upon (including monitoring of project’s activities, preparation of procurements and purchasing orders), ensuring that Donors and COOPI rules and regulations are implemented in all projects’ activities, procurement and other cases;
Ø ensure traveling to field sites for supporting activities’ management and supervision;
Ø support in preparing work plans, as well as other documents as required including the reporting on the following requirements:
o progress reports on projects’ activities and financial statements,
o any documents needed;
Ø share with the PM all needed information, provide solutions and define work processes for all planned interventions;
Ø ensure high quality and the timely implementation of activities;
Ø assist in new proposals formulation, if necessary;
Ø undertake other office duties which may be requested.

Required Background and Experience
We are looking for a dynamic and innovative individual with:
— advanced degree in Education, Business Administration, International Development or a related field;
— desirable knowledge of project cycle-management;
— minimum of expertise in working with VTCs and/or youth and women organizations, and/or in similar sectors;
— previous experience with an international humanitarian NGO is an advantage;
— strong analytical and practical problem-solving skills;
— strong supervisory abilities, and demonstrated capacity of teamwork and of coordination with the relevant actors;
— excellent inter-personal and writing communication skills;
— organize work efficiently and deliver assignments in a timely manner often under time constraints;
— proficiency in written and spoken English is a must, Arabic is an asset;
— computer literacy, with high proficiency in the use of standard office software applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
— knowledge of SPSS program is an asset;
— valid driving license.

Conditions of work
§ The intern is expected to work largely from COOPI office in East Jerusalem with frequent movement on field,
§ 1 return flight ticket
§ A working week is defined as 5 working days,
§ Lodging in Guest House with other expatriates.
