MENA Regional Team Intern

The Search for Common Ground MENA department seeks a responsible, creative, adaptable intern to join the Middle East –North Africa regional team. The intern will report to the Program Director, and will provide support to country programs in all of SFCG’s MENA locations, including Morocco, Yemen, Lebanon, Tunisia, Jerusalem, and Libya. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to conflict transformation in the region, while gaining professional experience in a country that is transitioning to democracy.


Excellent writing skills in English are required. This internship is based in Tunis, and involves a full-time commitment for six months.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with proposal writing for the MENA team’s country programs.
• Creating communications documents and reports.
• Collecting and documenting success stories.
• Monitoring projects.
• Researching and collecting program materials.
• Performing other supportive duties as needed.

As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position-holder may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Native English speaker or equivalent skill level.
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in international relations, communications, or a related field.
• Interest in peacebuilding and conflict transformation.
• Familiarity with the MENA region.
• Ability to maintain professionalism, creativity, and enthusiasm while working in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior international or cross-cultural experience.
• Ability to communicate in Arabic or French.
• Progress towards a Master’s degree in conflict resolution, peacebuilding, international relations, or a related field.

Salary
This position includes a stipend of $300 per month.
