Teaching English to Children of Remote Mountainous Communities of Yen Bai

The volunteers will work at the Centre for continuing education in Yen Bai city, Yen Bai province. The Centre provides English courses for children from the mountainous neighborhoods with the aim of equipping them with firm foundation and confidence to use English effectively.

The volunteers will teach English to the children and create a friendly environment in order to encourage them to communicate in English. They will also organize leisure activities (games, workshops, etc.) for the kids. The volunteers will help developing self-study materials and will also join in the teachers training program, helping local English teachers improve their skills.

Special requirements: Volunteers need to be enthusiastic, full of energy and to have strong English writing skills. Experience in working with children is preferred.

Duration of the project: 2-12 months

Accommodation: Volunteers will stay at the centre. They need to bring a sleeping bag.

Location: Yen Bai city, Yen Bai province

Terminal: Noi Bai International Airport (HAN)

Age range: 20 and over

Participation fee: $590 CAD

Extra fee: 7,500,000 VND (about 260 Euro)/month

The extra fee is intended to support the hosting organization who does not have sufficient funds. It is due upon arrival on the project.
