For the duration of this internship assignment the intern will receive:
ISOS emergency medical evacuation coverage
Local transport and accommodations for work-related travel

Accommodation
Living expenses
International Travel
Medical Insurance
All other costs associated with this internship
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The SCALE-Resilience program leverages existing laws and structures to apply a community-driven governance approach. SCALE will measurably contribute to the goal of improved resiliency among populations vulnerable to natural hazards and the impacts of climate change through strengthening the capacity of government, civil society and the private sector to reduce risks and to adapt to climate change.
The program focuses on the following principal areas:
- Improving capacity of stakeholders in climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction (DRR-CCA) through training, workshops, cross visits
- Conducting vulnerability and capacity assessment
- Facilitating climate adaptation and DRR pilot projects
- Advocacy for integrating DRR-CCA into local government policies
- Outreach: disseminating lessons learned and best practices
The interns will develop a Performance Evaluation examining the approach and lessons learned from API Perubahan / SCALE-Resilience program based on appropriate M&E process. The interns will need to travel to API Perubahan project sites located in West Jakarta, West Sumatera, Lampung and Maluku.
Together with Mercy Corps field teams, the interns will identify relevant materials, conduct appropriate and necessary M&E process, interviews and submit drafts. The interns will submit findings and recommendations.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
The intern is expected to learn about the process, approach, achievements and lessons of integrating DRR-CCA at local and sub national level, which includes project interventions, capacity building / training delivery, advocacy, and awareness campaign based on appropriate monitoring and evaluation.
DELIVERABLES:
A final report containing results of performance evaluation of API Perubahan program activities in 4 provinces.
IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor Degree in Environmental Management, Urban Studies, Social Science
- Strong familiarity with a broad range of Monitoring and Evaluation methodologies and approaches.
- Familiarity with natural resource management, urban and rural planning or climate change
- Superior writing and analytic skills required, with a track record of successful writing/analysis.
- Willingness and ability to travel to Indonesia
- Excellent interview skills and communication methods with multi actors
LIVING CONDITIONS:
The intern will be staying in Jakarta during her internship period and it is generally safe. The intern is advised to find accommodation close to the office which is located in South Jakarta and pretty convenient to stay for foreigner.
Mercy Corps interns and volunteers represent the agency both during and outside of work hours and are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and respect local laws, customs and MC's policies, procedures, and values at all times and in all in-country venues.
