Location: Washington DC, USA
he Internews Center for Innovation and Learning is currently seeking
a spring semester intern (April 15th to June 15th) and a summer intern
(June 15th to August 15th). The selected candidates would need to be
available 2-3 days a week. This is an unpaid position that can be based
in the Washington, D.C. office or remotely, and will provide the
interns with an opportunity to obtain first-hand knowledge and
experience with overseas crowdsourcing projects, crowdsourced mapping
and data analysis.
Responsibilities include:
· Maintain and update the Center’s website Crowdglobe.net
· Search for on going crowdsourcing mapping projects online and review them
· Compile monthly updates on new projects and interesting issues related to crowdsourced mapping
· Collect and review academic research studies on crowdsourced mapping
· Research potentially new project initiatives in the field of crowdsourced mapping
· Research and aggregate blogs, media articles, reports and other documentation on crowdsourced mapping
· Write monthly blog posts on crowdsourced mapping to be published in the Internews Center for Innovation and Learning website
Qualifications:
· BA in related field
· Strong Microsoft office skills
· The ability to multi-task and work on projects independently
· Interest and passion on crowdsourced mapping and crowdsourcing in general
· Knowledge of the topic
