Advocacy Officer - Unpaid

Work with a network of national and international non-governmental organizations working on HIV/AIDS and related social and health issues. The organization serves as a forum to enhance the sharing information, communication, coordination, partnership, networking, and advocacy and to strengthen the capacity of civil society organization toward universal access.
Under the guidance and supervision of the Executive Director, the Advocacy Officer will assist and perform the following job descriptions:

  1. Assist to conduct field visit or work with other institution to collect relevant information for advocacy issues
  2. Assist to organize round table discussion, consultation meetings and other forums related to advocacy issues
  3. Assist to write article and press release about HIV/AIDS and health related issues
  4. Assist to organize HIV/AIDS Awareness campaigns on Water Festival Day and World AIDS Day, National AIDS Conference and other events as required
  5. Assist to work with concerned institutions to do advocacy for the sake of NGO or PLHIV
  6. Assist to produce campaign strategy
  7. Assist to collect issues and problems raised by NGO/CBO to be published in newsletters and for advocacy purpose
  8. Assist to plan/ coordinate national meetings, forums, roundtable discussions, field visits or any activities related advocacy
  9. Assist to develop or work with staff in proposal development
  10. Work with the staff in developing policies, guidelines and procedures
  11. Assist to produce or consolidate annual progress report and quarterly progress report in relation with advocacy issues
  12. Attend any meetings, workshops or forums
  13. To perform any other duties as directed by the Executive Director
  14. Report directly to Executive Director
How to apply:
This position is unpaid and part of Workforce Humanities internship program that develops entry level humanitarian workers so they can gain valuable field experience. Participants need to pay the cost of their flight, food, accommodation for the six month period of placement.
