Department Description
Department 10613 (Center 1300 Business Operations) provides a range of business support services to our Center 1300 customers in Tech Area IV and V.  An opening currently exists within our Business Operations Team for a Financial Analyst who will be located in Tech Area 5.

Job Summary
Performs entry-level work within a business environment assisting in the development, implementation, and monitoring of a variety of processes and programs, which may include financial and cost analysis, marketing, accounting, quality assurance, human resources, and general business management or administration.

Primary Job Duties
Job assignments vary upon organization, discipline preference, and specific job requirements, as defined in the job specification.
Duties may include assistance with data organization, process management and manipulation, customer relations, budget analysis, action plan development, financial reporting, and human resources support.

Job Specification

The position is part of a Business Office team serving one Director, three Senior Managers and fifteen Department Managers.  The position primarily resides in TA-IV, with some activities in TA-V, and duties will include a range of organizational, program, and project administrative duties for Center 1300, Radiation Sciences. The position also supports some activities in Center 1600, Pulsed Power Sciences.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
General knowledge and good understanding of business principles and processes.
General understanding of and demonstrated ability to use a variety of business tools.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to contribute in a team environment.
Knowledge and good understanding of a suite of business software, including Microsoft Office.
Required
The successful candidate must meet the following Sandia Student Intern Requirements: Official acceptance into an accredited university's undergraduate program, full-time enrollment (12 credit hours), a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2/4.0, the ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer. U.S. citizenship.

General knowledge and good understanding of business principles and processes; General understanding of and demonstrated ability to use a variety of business tools; Good oral and written communication skills; Ability to contribute in a team environment; Knowledge and good understanding of a suite of business software, including Microsoft Office.
Desired
Experience with Financial reporting tools; Advanced Excel skills, especially pivot tables; Experience with ORACLE.
Security Clearance
Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE)-granted L-level security clearance.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications.
