Animal Advocacy Intern - Dallas, TX

Interning with the Humane League is a great way to gain valuable job experience in the non-profit field while at the same time helping to create a more compassionate world for animals. The Humane League is currently seeking a full-time intern to assist with our life-saving work in our Dallas, TX office. Housing will be provided if applicant can commit to a minimum of two months.

As an intern, you will be involved in a wide variety of projects, including, but not limited to:
-Raising awareness by leafleting and tabling at colleges, festivals and concert venues -distributing animal advocacy magazines around the city -Securing media coverage-Performing research through internet and phone work -Working with restaurants and cafes to implement new vegan items on the menu -Organizing and attending a diverse array of fundraising events
The Humane League is a very active animal advocacy organization, so you will be working on a wide variety of projects that require your dedication and hard work, with an emphasis on grass-roots advocacy and outreach. An ability to work independently and be a self-starter is a must! We also require that you have a valid drivers license. Availability on weekends and evenings is required. Note: internships are unpaid.
There are no deadlines for internship applications. We accept applications year-round and review applications as they arrive.

One of the core programs of The Humane League's Vegetarian Advocacy is Veg Outreach Leafleting, which involves approaching the public with informational pamphlets about the problems of factory farming and the benefits of adopting a plant-based diet. Do you feel you feel your personality and demeanor would be suitable for this type of work? Why?
Do you have specific areas of expertise or talent? Some possible skills are computer skills, website/IT knowledge, design work, comfort and facility with social media and PR, sales experience, research skills, event planning, presentation skills, etc. Please be as specific and detailed as possible
