Assistant to Director Internship or long term volunteer position

We are looking for someone proficient in both English and Spanish to assist the director of Mayan Families in handling the day-to-day logistics of running the organization. This person would be responsible for corresponding via email in both English and Spanish in support of a wide range of Mayan Families' activities, maintaining databases, and performing a variety of other tasks as the need arises. You will become familiar with what it takes to run a non-profit operation with over 50 employees.

Applicants should be organized, motivated, and prepared to work in the fast-paced and often hectic environment that is a non-profit serving a very needy and often disaster-afflicted community. Please let us know about other specific skills that you may have--we will surely find a way to put them to use!
The length and dates of the internship are flexible, though longer commitments are preferable. We will work with interns wishing to receive academic credit for their work. We have a standard 90 day probationary period. We ask for a 2 month minimum commitment please.
