Sharepoint Architect

In 2007, The Institute for Conscious Global Change (ICGC) was founded, with the objective of providing a comprehensive response to end poverty and all of its effects with a special focus on the worlds Least Developed Countries (LDCs) as categorized by the United Nations. ICGC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit NGO organization in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) within the UN system.

The Millennium Earth Project (MEP), formerly Virtual Global Earth Project, is the primary activity of The Institute for Conscious Global Change and was developed to support the United Nations in fulfilling its mission as laid out in its Charter.
Using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and CADD technology, the Institute is developing a visual solution to the United Nations' Millennium Development Goals that will provide a sustainable development plan. The Institute is currently in phase one of its development work focusing on development prototypes for three countries: Afghanistan in Asia, The Democratic Republic of the Congo in Africa, and Haiti in the Caribbean. Description:
The Institute for Conscious Global Change, Inc (ICGC) is seeking a well-qualified, experienced and talented SharePoint Architect to join our Team. This is a remote volunteer position. The focus of the role will be to contribute to the design, development and testing of large-scale enterprise solutions including all aspects of SharePoint, including enterprise search, portals, collaboration, forms and business processes.
You will have excellent communication skills with hands-on experience working on component based applications in a distributed environment and developing innovative solutions for complex workflows.
Skills Required of the SharePoint Architect:
Deep functional understanding of the SharePoint platform and capabilities
  • Ability to understand business objectives and translate into SharePoint functionality/requirements
  • Verbal and written communication skills including presentations, chairing meetings, workshop facilitation, business and technical document writing
  • Experience of working with a wide range of client facing stakeholders
  • Understanding of SharePoint governance good practice and importance
  • Ability to configure simple applications using out of the box SharePoint functionality
  • Awareness of the end to end Solution Lifecycle Development process
  • Understanding of platform hosting models and environments
  • Ability to troubleshoot, investigate and resolve technical issues
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines
Qualifications
Education & Qualifications - Degree in IT/Software Development or related discipline - MCSD and/or MCSE Certifications (Highly Desirable)
Professional Skills Required from the SharePoint Consultant:
EXAMPLES - Proactive - Self starter/works on own initiative - Reliable; high degree of ownership and commitment - Flexible - Strong interpersonal skills
COMMITTMENT
These are unpaid part time intern/volunteer positions. Volunteers are expected to work a minimum of 15 hours until September 30, 2013.
