Front End Web Developer Intern

Stories can change the world. At geocko, we are building a platform that helps organizations to share their stories and effectively drive their communities to the desired actions. Our clients include Woodland Park Zoo, Gates Foundation, and the U.S. State Department. We are looking for motivated developers who enjoy building web-based applications on top of vast amounts of data. The ideal team member will enjoy building systems that allow users to quickly take large amounts of data from different sources and present a compelling story using that information. More importantly, you will share the belief that storytelling on the web is fundamentally broken and you will be passionate in making it easier for anyone to share engaging stories with their community

Job Description:
We are looking for a driven, collaborative front-end web developer to join our small startup team to make a difference for the world's next billion.
About the Role:
  • Create beautiful, responsive, dynamic web experiences that tell the story of our nonprofit client's work.
  • Write solid, maintainable, extensible code.
  • Collaborate with designer, business development and technical developers to shape the product together.
  • Continuously improve the product for better usability and to achieve high visual polish.
  • Test product across different user scenarios and web platform.
  • Employ industry best practices for shipping and follow our agile sw development process.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Solid knowledge of front-end web (HTML/CSS) technologies and client-side scripting (JavaScript/AJAX) for world-class user interfaces.
  • Curiosity and ability to learn various tools/tech platforms such as bootstrap, foundation, Git, SASS, grid based design.
  • Visual proficiency and ability to use creative suite to do basic graphic tasks.
  • Candidate must have Technical background (BS in computer/engineering related field) or visual background (BA in digital media related field).
