UN Advocacy/Multilateral Affairs Intern

Crisis Group is looking for a full-time intern to assist the UN Advocacy Department. The intern will be supervised by the Vice President/Head of Office and the Senior UN Analyst. The intern's main tasks will include scheduling appointments, handling correspondence, keeping track of calendars, travel and event coordination, note taking and answering phones as well as researching and writing on various topics.
The intern may also be asked to attend meetings and events as a representative of the organization. The position is primarily administrative in nature but offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a high profile international NGO and to learn about the country specific and thematic issues as well as the UN system.

Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in international relations or a similar subject
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Excellent verbal and written command of English
  • Other language proficiency a plus
  • Strong research and note taking skills
  • Knowledge of Crisis Group reports helpful
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office, email and internet applications
  • Self-motivated, flexible and reliable
  • Ability to deal confidently and swiftly with a variety of demanding tasks
  • Must be available 40 hours per week for a period of at least six months
  • Authorization to work in the United States
