Job Summary:             

This PR Fellow will have the opportunity to gain invaluable field experience and publicize Invisible Children’s projects in the Central African Republic. Not for the faint of heart, this thrilling experience will give the ideal candidate the opportunity to effectively communicate our work while keeping the world updated on our latest program developments. As a fellow, you will work alongside Invisible Children staff in our Obo office, and have the opportunity to gain professional field experience in an innovative, dynamic and exciting work environment.

Fellowship Details:

This is a 6-month fellowship and will begin immediately upon hire. Our fellow is expected to work 40 hours each week and will receive a stipend for living expenses. Housing will be provided.

Joining the Invisible Children, CAR team will give you the opportunity to:

·      Work closely with the CAR Project Officer to publicize Invisible Children’s projects:
       The Early Warning Radio Networkdefection messaging, and work with local civil society groups.
·      Act as a liaison with Invisible Children’s San Diego-based Communication Staff
·      Distribute information about Invisible Children’s programs to the national and international partners and the United Nations OCHA.
·      Publish Invisible Children content including photos, short videos, blog posts, and program descriptions
·      Build program staff capacity and skills

To be considered for this role you must have:

·      A bachelor’s degree; previous coursework, internships, and/or experience in PR is preferred
·      Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
·      French and English fluency (absolute requirement)
·      Knowledge about press, media, ad culture, and the ability to synthesize complex information into simple packages
·      The ability to work independently and self-motivate
·      And a love for travel
