User Experience Intern

We’re looking for someone who has the ability to create clear and valuable experiences for our millions of members, billions of potential members, and all of their friends and awkward acquaintances. We want someone who can see the process through from ideation to visual design. Help us give the user an experience they'll tell their friends about.

Responsibilities:
  • Fighting for the user: Everything we do must have the best interest of the user in mind. You need to champion the user’s needs to ensure that we are providing value each step along the way.
  • Research: Conduct user interviews to improve individual user flows and suggest new products for latent needs.
  • Wireframing: Create visual mockups for new products including web, Facebook apps, mobile web, and mobile apps.
  • Usability testing: You'll make sure we get user feedback in the MVP, alpha and beta phases of our product process.
  • Innovation. Keep up with UI innovations that create remarkable experiences. Suggest smart, creative ways for implementation in our product offerings.
Must haves:
  • Omnigraffle, Balsamiq, Illustrator or pen/paper for wireframing.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator
  • You understand the needs of 15 year old in Jacksonburg, Ohio as well the needs of a 22 year old in NYC.
  • “Simple” is your favorite word in the dictionary.
  • Passion. For design. For delivering a delightful experience. For social change.
Nice to haves:
  • Visual design chops
  • Experience conducting user research and testing

  • Tell us about your design thinking process - Write a short story about an undiscovered need you found and the process you went through to develop an appropriate solution or iteration. Can be fiction or non-fiction! 250 words max.
