Summary
The internship will provide the participant an opportunity to help further public awareness of the Newborn and Child Survival Campaign. Additionally, the intern will help to develop strategic relationships with local activists and improve the Campaign’s advocacy potential in targeted Congressional districts. Finally, the intern will provide, as needed, administrative and logistical support to NCS staff primarily for various campaign activities and events.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct outreach to potential local partners and advocates
  • Provide logistical support on various Newborn and Child Survival Campaign events
  • Draft advocacy and campaign documents
  • Maintain supporter database and monitor direct campaign communication
  • Respond to campaign emails and inquiries
 
Requirements
  • Experience with political or advocacy campaigns, or with grassroots organizing
  • Demonstrated event planning experience
  • Interest in global health policy, specifically maternal and child health
  • Comfortable using social media for advocacy
  • Possess strong written skills, solid interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Must be enrolled in a relevant undergraduate, graduate or post-graduate academic program
  • Must be able to receive credit from their college or institution. (A minimum requirement is a letter from a professor supporting the candidate. This is only needed when an internship is offered.)
