Summary
The Internal Communications Department is looking for an Intern to assist in building internal communication capacity of global NGO. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about what it takes to make an international organization work as a team in pursuit of a common mission. The intern’s role will focus on making new and routine communications tools. It will also bring people with different backgrounds and area of focus together.
Responsibilities
  • Help build, manage and maintain internal agency website as part of a 2013 project to update agency platform
  • Identify areas of interest within the agency that should be shared with a broader audience
  • Develop creative internal campaigns and presentations to promote agency work and spur staff action
  • Collect quantitative and qualitative feedback from staff to shape communications materials to better serve the agency
  • Liaise with all Save the Children US departments to promote interconnected teamwork
 
Requirements
  • Self-starter with an interest in communications, nonprofit management, or international affairs.  Excellent writing, organizational and interpersonal skills. Experience with Microsoft Office suite required, Prezi, Yammer (or similar online network) and SharePoint a plus.
  • Possess strong written skills, solid interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Must be enrolled in a relevant undergraduate, graduate or post-graduate academic program
  • Must be able to receive credit from their college or institution. (A minimum requirement is a letter from a professor supporting the candidate. This is only needed when an internship is offered.)
