Overview:

EMBARQ is looking for a highly motivated intern to help keep all of EMBARQ’s online assets current, organized, easy to use, on-brand, and full of useful and engaging content. This internship requires someone who has both an eye for design (with some skills as well), some technical knowledge like basic HTML and CMSs, and a knack for figuring out new online tools and systems quickly. EMBARQ’s Online Engagement Intern will gain exposure and experience working in a global organization working to improve the lives of people in some of the most dynamic and fastest growing cities in the world.  The intern will learn a lot about effectively managing the online presence of an exciting global organization. This is a paid internship for 3 months with the possibility of extension. The internship is based in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities: Upload and remove content, format and design web pages on EMBARQ.org Upload and format content on TheCityFix.com Organize and upload content on Salesforce.com Design, format, and send mass emails using Vertical Response Organize and help administer Google Groups, Google Sites, shared calendars and other Google Apps tools Post, promote, and curate EMBARQ’s accounts on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc Upload, edit, and organize photos on Flickr Upload and organize presentations on Slideshare Compile, analyze, and share analytics for all of EMBARQ’s online assets Gathering, cleaning and migrating datasets of contacts, research, and web content Design and format Powerpoint templates and presentations Track and help resolve bugs for all of EMBARQ’s online assets Write how-to’s and best practice guidelines

Qualifications:

Qualifications: Undergraduate degree preferred Knowledge of basic HTML and CSS Solid visual design and user experience skills and sensibilities Experience with content management systems Wordpress and Drupal Experience with CRM systems and databases Salesforce and Raisers Edge Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign Experience with email systems like Vertical Response, Campaign Monitor, and Constant Contact Experience with both Google Apps and Microsoft Office Strong written and verbal communication skills A passion for sustainability, development, and innovation More about EMBARQ EMBARQ is a program of the World Resources Institute.
