Internews Network has an immediate opening for an unpaid editorial internship with the new Internews Center for Innovation & Learning. The Internews Center for Innovation & Learning aims to harness the potential of digital technologies and innovative approaches to better meet the information needs of communities around the world. The Center’s website http://innovation.internews.org/ serves as a hub to inform and engage others in the fields of media, information technology and development. The intern will provide critical support in the following areas:
- Copy edit website content, tag content types and upload photographs when necessary
- Revise blog entries and other long-form content types to improve syntax and structure.
- Identify and document common copy editing errors
Ideal
candidates will be graduate or undergraduate students with copy editing
experience and an interest in international development, information
and communication technology and/or journalism with appropriate language
skills. A brief copy editing test will be administered to final round
candidates. Internews is happy to accommodate students seeking academic
credit for this internship.
