UChicago Impact is an education sector start-up affiliated with the University of Chicago. UChicago Impact builds and scales solutions to the challenges faced by school districts across the country. As an intern you would join a successful growing organization already improving schools in 20 states and 40 cities.

Intern- Python Developer (25%-50%)

Profile:
We're looking for self-directed, self-motivated individuals who can wear many hats, working independently and as a member of a team. As a Python developer you will work closely with UChicago Impact’s senior web developer to help support our 5Essentials educational platform.

Requirements:

• Experience building secure, scalable, stable and manageable web applications in Python.
• Experience working with MySQL SB.
• Some experience working on Linux utilizing a standard web services framework (Apache).
• Good experience in Object Oriented design patterns.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills highly preferred. 

Technical requirements:

• Programming in Python
• Good knowledge of MySql
• Experience using Shell command

Differentiators:

• Experience in javascript / ajax and/or mobile development
• Experience in using DJango framework.
• Contribution to an open source project
