Summary
The Emergency Health & Nutrition team of Save the Children in Washington, DC seeks a graduate-level student for a part or full-time (25-35 hours/week) summer internship.  The intern will work under the supervision of the Program Coordinator with oversight from the Associate Director of Emergency Health and Nutrition and Senior Director.  The Intern will focus on M&E (Monitoring &Evaluation) activities, documentation, proposal development and administrative, logistical, and program support as needed. 
 
Responsibilities
  • Assist  EHN (Emergency Health & Nutrition) Operations Team with M&E activities, including maintenance of database for tracking all EHN related programs, proposals and grant expenditures
  • Assist with EHN proposal development and program support
  • Work with Director, Associate Director and Program Coordinator to improve knowledge management within the team and across the Department of Health and Nutrition
  • Maintain a filing system for key EHN related documents. Perform periodic analysis to generate a profile of the evolving portfolio.
 
Requirements
  • Demonstrated interest in public health and humanitarian assistance
  • Detail-oriented and good interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with Word, Excel and PowerPoint, experience with basic data analysis desirable
  • Possess strong written skills, solid interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Must be enrolled in a relevant  graduate or post-graduate academic program
  • Must be able to receive credit from their college or institution. (A minimum requirement is a letter from a professor supporting the candidate. This is only needed when an internship is offered.)
